Low Fat Diet To Maintain A Healthy Body

Diet is a way that we use to get a healthy and fit body. To do a proper diet we need to consider several things. The most important one is for us to pay attention to the amount of fat in the food we consume. Consume too much high-fat food can make us have an over-weight gain. Therefore, we need to limit the amount of fat we consume. Not only that, we also need to consider the type of fats we consume. By doing this, other than we can prevent weight gain, we also could control the amount of cholesterol in the body.

We need to remember that even though we are on a diet by limiting the amount of fat we consume, it does not mean we should not consume fat at all. After all, fat is a compound that is needed by our bodies. Fat is required by our body to provide energy reserves, transport nutrients to the cells in the body, and helps digestion. Therefore, we need to consume fat to the amount needed by the body that is 30% of your total caloric needs. But if some people have high cholesterol, overweight, or have a history of certain diseases, it is advisable to consume under these percentages. The main reason why we need to limit fat, because of high cholesterol content. Cholesterol can lead to blockage of blood vessels that can lead to heart attack, stroke, or even death.

In doing low fat diet, we also need to consider the type of fats we consume. That meant is we need to replace foods that contain saturated fats with foods containing unsaturated fats. Consume unsaturated fats will help the body reduce total cholesterol and the low-density lipoprotein in the body. Examples of foods that contain unsaturated fats are corn oil and olive oil.
