But if some people have high cholesterol, overweight, or have a history of certain diseases, it is advisable to consume under these percentages. The main reason why we need to limit fat, because of high cholesterol content. Cholesterol can lead to blockage of blood vessels that can lead to heart attack, stroke, or even death.
In doing low fat diet, we also need to consider the type of fats we consume. That meant is we need to replace foods that contain saturated fats with foods containing unsaturated fats. Consume unsaturated fats will help the body reduce total cholesterol and the low-density lipoprotein in the body. Examples of foods that contain unsaturated fats are corn oil and olive oil.
